Counting My Cupcakes started in July 2011. The blog documents my trials baking and cooking in my own kitchen, eating the delicious (and sometimes not so delicious) foods from restaurants around home and on trips away from home, and everything in between.
With a lot of eating comes a lot of exercise. I was a swimmer my entire life, through my sophomore year in college. After I retired from the sport, I picked up running. I feel my best after a nice jog or workout no matter what time of day. My sweet tooth is my motivating factor to keep me working out. I know that's the price I have to pay in order to enjoy the food I want! But I also know the importance of balance.
I am blessed to live in a city like Charleston known for the great restaurants and farmers markets. While I bake often to satisfy my sweet tooth, cooking healthy meals or throwing together a light lunch is just as nice. But eating out isn't so bad either!
